PTD
My journey to become a PTD is quite long due to series of postponement that I did years ago because of pursuing my study to United Kingdom.
I was called for an examination which was held at SMK Sri Aman, Petaling Jaya when I was in the last semester for my undergraduate study. I still remember I answered the papers one whole day on 13 April 2013. There were 4 papers all together. The first paper was the General Knowledge paper, followed by Mathematics. These both were objective questions. While in the afternoon, there were 2 more papers which were English Essay Writing and Malay Essay Writing. Alhamdulillah, I felt the ease of answering all those papers.
On 20 May 2013, I got the result. I passed the exam. I was called for an interview on 14 November 2013. The interviewer did ask me whether I am married or not. I told him that I am married. He did ask whether I have children or not. I told him that I have not had one yet. Thus, he said to hold on your pregnancy we will call you for Cadet PTD on March 2014.
However, I made up my mind to pursue my Master study at University of Salford on Feb 2014. Thus, I resigned as Quantity Surveyor then went to UK alone to fulfil my ambition. Suruhanjaya Perkhidmatan Awam (SPA) did contact me while I was in UK to offer a placement as Administrative Officer for 6 months contract before pursuing the Cadet PTD on October 2014.
I cannot accept the offer as I just started my study there and I wrote an email to SPA to postpone my Cadet PTD. On 2015, SPA did email me again on March offering a place for Cadet PTD but to my dismay I still in UK finishing my dissertation and I was pregnant too at the same time. Thus, I declined the offer again.
Alhamdulillah on March 2016, SPA did email me again to undergo PAC examination, I passed that then I had to be interviewed again on 20 April 2016. Alhamdulillah, I passed the interview thus I joined the Cadet PTD course for 10 months starting 24 July 2016 until 26 May 2017. I started my PTD journey as a government officer on 27 May 2017 until now.
There are a lot of memories that have been captured throughout the journey. If I were given more time, Insha'Allah I will be serving the Government of Malaysia for about 25 more years. However, if I think that I have a good opportunity in other fields, I will make up my step into it.
I have been serving KPKT for almost 4 years now. Alhamdulillah, for the APC 2020 given.

DS: Okay since you graduated as QS and had MSc in Project Management in Construction , apa itu BIM?
I: Smile and then replied Building Information Modelling.
DS: Smile back..
And the rest is history..
Now, on 2024, I have been serving two ministries. KPKT and KPM. Both have their own struggles. But the most important thing is that how do I keep on going even there were times I was mentally broke down. The prayer of the loves one are the strength, I believe in that.
Till then.
